Hello Friends and Bloggers,
I have learned of an interesting art competition I thought I share with you.
The Historical Society of Washington DC has been keeping a record of the way DC has changed for over 120 years. They are sponsoring an art competition that you have a chance to contribute to. It is called For The Record. It’s a juried contest of new artworks that depict Washington’s changing urban landscape. If you are a DC area photographer, painter, or mixed media artist, you may submit your work that uses one of the locations on the D.C. Preservation League’s “List of Most Endangered Places for Washington, D.C.”
There will be nine esteemed jurors. 75 pieces will be displayed at the Historical Society’s headquarters, and an exhibition catalog will be provided to each semi-finalist and will also be available for sale. Five winning artists will receive a cash award and the work will be accessioned into the Society’s permanent collection.
The deadline is February 1st. Good luck.
